New Beginnings – 2010, Body and Hearth with Living Reiki

What a year 2009 was! So much healing is taking place as well as many changes. My traditional time off period for rest and relaxation in the month of December was filled with a flurry of endings and new beginnings. My business of Living Reiki as it was for many years ended but has become Living Reiki working side by side with Body and Hearth. I have joined in business partnership with Kate Casey, Feng Shui consultant and teacher and Reiki Master, in a store whose purposes are many. Together, Kate and I have increased the power of our intention, and we want to support healing facilitation and providing of information of alternative and complementary therapies in Sacramento and its outlying communities.

We officially opened our doors on December 12, 2009 to coincide with Sacramento’s Second Saturday. What a surprise we had from family and close friends and brand new people too. We were warmly welcomed into the community of East Sacramento and had a store full of people who stayed beyond our closing time. We were greatly successful and made product sales although we hadn’t planned to. Everyone there complimented the store and congratulated us, giving us feedback that confirm we are indeed following our hearts on the Divine pathway to accomplish our Divine purpose. What an exhilirating experience of our lives.
We just had our second Second Saturday event on January 9 and had another exquisite evening with many lovely people. Awesome jazz entertainment was provided by Shelley Burns & Bill Dendle which was the perfect touch that added to the magic of our evening. Kate and I are living our dreams of having a gathering place, little vintage shop with new and some gently used products, metaphysical products, jewelry made by Kate and myself, art work, Reiki, Feng Shui, etc. We didn’t know where the people came from, but we truly feel we are blessed.
Our Touch of Magic, third Wednesday evening presentation series, is expanding from the 3rd Wednesday of every month to every Wednesday every month. I am the event coordinator and am filling our calendar for the year. We will offer Living Reiki circles once a month on a Tuesday evening, details on dates/times are in the works now. I will also be teaching my Living Reiki classes at the store on some Sundays.
Everything is passing, everything is changing. Old energy is moving out gracefully, and new energy is moving in. We are grateful for all we have at this moment in time. Thank you for being a most important part of our dream.

Reiki Third Degree Master Series–Another Ending, Another Beginning

This level of training opens one fully to the power of Reiki and accesses your spiritual self. In the second half of the Master Series, one will learn how to teach Reiki and to give attunements.
If you take this training with Reiki Master Teacher Marion Hakata, unlocking the power of Reiki and opening to your Divine purpose is a journey of 6 days (1 day per month) that creates your building blocks towards Reiki mastership. The serious student is going to transform through the willingness to heal self and will ultimately find his/herself wanting to serve humanity in some way. Some will continue to teach or practice Reiki. Some will put it with something else. Many will embrace Reiki as their support system.
Days 1 through 5 shows students how other tools and techniques can work together with the Reiki energy. They learn the attunement process and how to do them for the highest good. They focus on how to teach with intention, compassion, and unconditional love. …AND they continue to elevate their consciousness and transcend the limitations on the pathway to divine perfection, and will undoubtedly complete some initiations that are an important part of their ascension process.
The 6th day ultimately becomes a test and a confirmation of what was learned about Reiki in prior classes; and that is exactly the moment the door opens to their true journey of acquiring mastership through teaching and practicing Reiki on their own on and with others if that is what is wanted. The 6th day is almost always something to behold and brings one many gifts that couldn’t be imagined until the practice RI class has been experienced being a teacher sharing with one’s students.
The door to mastership has opened. It is up to them. They continue to learn and heal themselves as they facilitate Reiki sessions on others, as they share this healing form with others as teachers. They are in another phase, another NEW BEGINNING.
I want to congratulate the new Reiki Master Teachers who completed the entire three levels of academic training in 2009. You are the ones who stayed with it, who were serious about this healing practice, who are going to take this energy into new beginnings, not only for yourselves, but for your friends, your family, and many others.

Getting Started in Young Living

There are two types of distributors: 1) The distributor who is interested in product only, but not the business aspect; and 2) The distributor who has fallen in love with the Young Living company and its products and wants to share them with everyone. Sharing and telling people about Young Living naturally moves one towards establishing a home-based business that can become profitable.

This process uses 7 single oils and 2 therapeutic blends that are dropped on the receiver’s back in raindrop fashion. By applying special techniques and warm, moist towels, the oils will move deeply into the spine and through the nerve pathways to the afflicted organs, systems, or areas of the body to promote relaxation and pain reduction. The oils and Technique can easily and effortlessly be incorporated in your massages and Reiki sessions, or you can do stand-alone Raindrop sessions. Anyone and everyone can learn how to do Raindrop Technique. This class will cover:
- Essential oils used in the Raindrop session that have been clinically tested to have antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties.
- How to apply these oils using a method designed to optimize the power of healing and alignment in the human body.
- Why the quality of essential oils matters, how to avoid toxic imitators, how to be safety conscious and wise when using the oils.
- What benefits can be realized; i.e., relieves/reduces back and knee pain, tight shoulders, chronic pain, flushes out toxins, promotes general well being.
- Hands-on experience of doing and receiving the Raindrop session.

Steps to Success

Gary Young shares how Young Living distributors can be successful by overcoming rejection and gaining knowledge.
Many people ask, “Gary, what are some things I can do to become a more successful Young Living distributor?” Well, one of the first things I tell them to do is get a corporate name.
It doesn’t matter if you file as a corporation or LLC, but go register as a DBA. Folks, if you don’t look at it as a business, you’ll never treat it as a business. Get business cards and letterhead. Potential distributors will see how you treat your business and will model it after yours. You’re the example!
Structure your life so you have set the hours you’re going to work and be disciplined with it. Set up a place in your home to work, whether it’s the garage or a little desk in the corner of your home; every time you act as a business person you create the frequency of success. Next, study the demographics around you: How many people are in the area? What’s the competition? Look at it the same way if you were going to go out there and build a beauty salon or a law practice.
Now people tell me all the time, “Gary, I just can’t sell, I’m not a sales person.” Well let’s look at this from another perspective. How many of you have shared with a friend your review of a movie, a restaurant you enjoyed, or about how much you like your new cell phone or iPod? How many of you have applied for a job in your life? Did you have convince that person you were worthy of hire? Sharing is selling—we do it all the time.
A lot of people don’t like to sell because they can’t stand rejection. First, let’s understand what rejection is. When we take rejection personally, it is a reflection of our own self worth and it’s something that needs to be worked on. So how’s the best way to work on it? Go get rejected! And keep getting rejected until you get over it or you can simply short cut it by changing your attitude. Learn to accept rejection with grace and ease.
Next, the reason why many fail in network marketing is because we don’t take the time to invest in knowledge. What do you need to do to get a college degree? First you have to spend the money, second you need to go to the classes, and third you need to learn the material and apply it. How can you be successful if you don’t invest in yourself, your business?
Go to a Young Living convention or any seminar that distributors are putting on in your area. Successful people attend everything that is ever put on. How many of you know salesmen who will travel to regional, national, and state sales conferences in order to stay on top of their game? Teach your people to look at Young Living as a business first, even if they’re looking at it for the benefit of their family. When you look at it as a business then the business brings success.
