ABOUT THE ARTIST

Judy LewLoose holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the prestigious Pratt Institute located in Brooklyn, New York, and attended the Academy of Art College in San Francisco for two years.

LewLoose’s unique blend of color, light and shadow shimmer with a splash of pointillism. This method of using tiny dots of pure color, explores a new technique in watercolors. Judy, is a pioneer in this style and her paintings are collected by both professional organizations and private collectors.

The purpose of Judy’s art is “to bring you beauty, in the midst of an uncertain world. Through my paintings, I aspire to give you a sense of serenity. My desire is for you to feel enough tranquility in the middle of an emotional storm. My passion is to share with you, what I see, what I feel, what is in my soul. Connecting with you in a timeless moment.”

Please come and join us for this special ceremony!
The ceremony of tea was introduced to Japan in the 12th century by Zen monks as a spiritual discipline. Tea acted as a mild stimulant that cleared the mind during meditation and was valued for its medicinal qualities.

Chanoyu, which translates to hot water for tea, is often used to describe the traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony. Chanoyu focuses on preparing and serving a bowl of tea with a pure heart.

Come have a bowl of tea and see one of the many Japanese Tea Procedures performed by Chajin Yon Walls, a Japanese Tea Practitioner since her introduction to the practice in Hiroshima, Japan in 2002. Yon will also present a brief history of Chanoyu, discuss some of the benefits of green tea, tea practice as an activity of meditation and her thoughts on the practice as a person not native to Japan.

After making tea, Yon will also share some utensils and bowls of the practice. The first five guests will be served tea and a sweet. All present welcome to ask questions and to join the discussion!
